The Consequences of Internet Libel
Just a FYI 'cause this sounds SO familiar!
Ga. man awarded $404,000 for libelous Internet postings
In just a few days, Gene Cooley lost his fiancee, his job, his future in-laws and his home. It started with the murder of Cooley's fiancee by the woman's ex husband. While still reeling from that loss, he became a target of Internet postings from someone he barely knew. The anonymous poster went on a community website for Blairsville, where Cooley lived at the time, and accused him of being a pedophile with a criminal record and a drug addict. None of it was true.
A Union County jury last week said the damage those postings did to Cooley was worth $404,000, the largest award ever handed down in this North Georgia county. The poster was identified through her computer's numeric IP address.
"She absolutely ax-murdered this boy's life," said Russell Stookey, Cooley's lawyer.
Cooley barely knew his web attacker, a woman who worked at a Blairsville store where he sometimes shopped. Had it not been for the willingness by the website, Topix.com, to out Sybil Denise Ballew, her identity may never have been known.

Cooley's saga began with the murder of his fiancee, Paulette Harper, at the hands of her ex-husband in September of 2008. A few days later, the postings on the Blairsville page of Topix.com started showing up.
The poster wrote Cooley was a "pervert" and drug addict with a lengthy criminal record, a man who had been in prison and rehab. Harper’s daughter, who was 9 at the time, must be protected from Cooley, the poster wrote.
Ballew is the woman who wrote the posts under the pseudonyms Mouth, Calvin, Bugs, Yuck, Rebel and Slim. She admitted in court that she also had conversations with herself, posting her concerns on the site under one name and then agreeing with the posts under another persona.
A Sept. 18, 2008, exchange on Topix.com started with “Calvin” asking if anyone knew Gene’s last name because he wanted to warn Harper’s family of his past.
“Keep that creep away from the children,” wrote “Mouth,” who was Ballew.
Ballew responds as “Calvin,” -- Thank you very much!!! I cant thank you enough. I will notify the family as soon as possible. If you know or have any more information, please let me know… Mouth -- If you don't mind me asking, how do you know all this about Gene???”
Moments later, “Yuck,” also Ballew, writes, “keep gene away from that little girl!! hes not even qualified to have the children hes got. yes, he is a boozer and a pot user, and a nutcase. he has gotten fired from every salon hes worked at...he is so gross!!”
Others tried to defend Cooley but then another Ballew persona, “Slim,” posted, “sometimes the truth hurts. … I am not one to sugar coat anything. If people get mad at me [for] what I think , then they certainly have that right. .. Everyone on this earth has a decision how they're going to live their life. If it 's not right then they will pay for what they done as we all will when we stand at judgement.”
And the posters who defended Cooley were insulted.

Dear Readers,
I have to admit, this thread is an example of a good discussion and it stayed civil for the most part. Emotional? Hell Yes - to be expected! I stay back on the sidelines cheering the search for Kyron, for the most part. There are times when I need to speak up, 98% time I ignore it, I am not a hater, not a fighter, not a troll. I will not post things I know nothing about but I do ask questions. I require validation, knowing where 'said info' came from. This is the basis for healthy debate and the real information is there to "think" from. I wear the same shoes as the majority who believe in talking truth from a reality perspective based on fact..

"Kaine's main benefit from this tragedy has come through his behavior, levering the situation u into full custody of his daughter, denying her any contact with her mother, discrediting his wife completely in hopes that she will never have a...ccess to her daughter. The more money accumulates in there, the more influence goes along with the potential spending of it. That, along with Kaine's rising celebrity, has tangible financial value. I'm not saying there is anything illegal about this. I'm sure it is entirely proper.
We don't know if Kaine had plans to divorce Terri before Kyron disappeared. We do know that he never put her name on the title to their home. If he was planning a divorce, this tragedy tipped the divorce entirely in his favor. My opinion is that Kaine has used this situation to his benefit in many ways, the least of which is financial."

FACT: The Foundation is not required to report publicly how any of the funds are spent.

FACT: Kaine manages PR himself. Kaine's current PR managers are named Telephone, Voice-mail and email.
Provide a link or quoted source to validate your PR claims.
FACT: There is a team of dedicated volunteers working 24/7 with Kaine and Des on many projects with several networks and agencies which are not to be discussed or published until finalized or ready for public awareness.
FACT: MCSO and other agencies continue searches with the on-going investigation, the MCSO Donations funds have gone to these efforts.
FACT: No one knows what additional private agencies may have been hired or utilized to search for Kyron, obviously this would not be public knowledge because its an on-going criminal investigation.

The searching has been extensive with the professionals. I just cannot see what else he can do other than what he IS doing. Where should HE be searching?

(IMO) I suspect its good reason and there is enough info out there for people to make an educated guess why he may have not been selected to work with Kyron's case.

A little levity about a dark subject

one of the main posters on this site, Teresa Kao AKA Emily Rose, actually had the nerve to say that she isnt even sure that Kyron is a real little boy but only a hologram created for drama- it really is vile to mock a family in so much pain.
Teresa Kao is the person who has already written one book off of Kyron's back and is currently working on another.
Emily Rose is one of her admitted alter egos for Facebook posting. This was a post she made referring to her book on the same site- the "haters" she refers to are Kyron supporters

A profile for each personality?
While KHRS is on the topic of multiple personality & profile syndrome... I feel inspired to blog again.
I've been accused of being this person.. or that person.. being Chana.. now apparently Mike Barber. I sit back and laugh because for one thing, besides this blog.. I follow absolutely nothing about this case and unless someone sends me a link to something, I don't go looking. The people making the accusations are guilty of each having 30 different profiles themselves... so they automatically assume that everyone else does the same. I believe there's a psych term for that... It ranks right along up there with paranoia and we already know they're delusional... And, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there are about 6 people pretending to be 600. I've spent a lot of time with these people and their other "personalities" I can tell you that 90% of them are Eric.. and maybe 3 are Sandi - TLK for sure... she's always been so disconnected and cold when it comes to her kids.. only SHE would refer to a child as an "offspring" like she has with her own so many times.
I have only ever had one other account besides my own.. and it wasn't a fake name.. it was my name and I had the account to post on so my regular account couldn't be reported and disabled.
I will take responsibility for Preston Bell (to screw with Allison Bell) That account was made by a guy named Jerry and he just came around to get a rise out of Allison because she was PMing him when he first joined the page. Everyone knew who it was and giggled equally. Sandi Lessman tried everything in her power to try to friend him.. stating "you can accept me.. I don't bite.. hard ;) " Screen shot of THAT beauty is coming as soon as Jerry logs on the account to get one. Actually, there are a few and they're PRICELESS! Anyhoo...
Their STELLAR sleuthing skillz tells them Mike Barber must be MB because his initials are M and B.... lol need I say more? No.. I forgot about it already.. I don't need a fake account because to me, Facebook is about keeping up with my friends, "liking" my friends' posts, posting links to the new striped tights and hair bows I bought my girls. I'm done with this ... except for the unfinished business I have with making things right for Kyron. I'm not here for your entertainment.. or even my own. I am here to expose the lies that I saw through and the absolute BS that's being continued.
I think by now we all know who's who... They can post initials.. but it's all the same people talking to themselves and agreeing with themselves... Logging in everyday to finish another "level" of their online "game"

What makes me different is I stopped being an "accessory" after I found out what was going on and wanted no part of it. After all, I was here to defend someone I truly thought was innocent, not cover for them or hinder apprehension..
I'm not trying to "save myself" - Save myself from what exactly? Sending her body wash and facial scrub? I've sent bath baskets to a lot of people as gifts.. including Desiree. Voicing my opinion? If that were the case, then every blogger and forum poster would be in the same situation. I have nothing to save myself from... LOL please! My appearance here is purely fueled by disgust because what I witnessed with my own eyes and ears and the feeling in my gut that I wake up with every single day knowing that I could have possibly found out where Kyron was and never did.
LE isn't interested in me.. they are interested in the gateway I provided for them to see past all the lies they've been fed and that are continued to be spewed out to hinder apprehension and slander the family. Having an opinion of someone and voicing it is one thing, and perfectly legal. However, stating things as fact or trying to make something look like something it's not is something completely different.
